Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, KAMS was formed to provide a unified voice for Aboriginal health and well-being, and to deliver centralised resources and collective advocacy in partnership with its Member Services. KAMS is governed by a Board of Directors made up of Aboriginal health leaders from across its Member Services.

Our vision is that all Kimberley Aboriginal people are empowered to be strong, healthy, and connected through Aboriginal community-controlled services. Our purpose is to deliver holistic health and well-being outcomes in partnership with Aboriginal-led organisations, centred around Aboriginal culture and knowledge.

Position Overview

The 2 x Office Cleaner  will be based in Broome on a Full-time basis. You will play a key part in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the office environment. You will be responsible for ensuring all areas are consistently presented to a high standard, supporting a safe, clean, and welcoming workplace for staff and visitors. This position requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly vacuum and mop all floors and wet areas, ensuring all movable items are managed appropriately.
  • Clean and maintain bathrooms, including toilets, hand basins, and replenishing supplies as required.
  • Wipe down surfaces, kitchen benches, and cupboards, keeping shared areas tidy and hygienic.
  • Empty rubbish bins daily and ensure cleaning products are stocked and stored safely.
  • Report any items requiring repair or replacement to the manager without delay.

The cleaner will also be responsible for adhering to safety and health regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and maintaining professional standards in all cleaning tasks.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and the integrity of the workplace. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Current knowledge of Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Federal Police Clearance.

While a current C Class driver’s licence is desirable, it is not mandatory. Successful candidates will be motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for contributing to the health and well-being of the community.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is $60,747 per annum pro rata. Additional benefits include:

  • Accommodation Allowance of $7,800 per annum pro rata.
  • Annual Airfare of $1,285 per annum (after 12 months of service).
  • District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) per annum pro rata.
  • Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata.
  • Optional Salary Sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata.
