Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) serves as the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, KAMS champions the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people by providing centralised resources and advocating for collective health initiatives.
As a member-based organisation, KAMS partners with eight independent Aboriginal organisations to deliver a broad range of health services. Our vision is to empower Kimberley Aboriginal people to achieve strong health outcomes and stay connected through community-controlled services.
Position Overview
The Driver will be based in the Kutjungka region on a Casual basis. You will play a crucial role within our Remote Services, ensuring timely and safe transportation of clients, supplies, and equipment to and from health centre appointments, including emergency transfers. This position is integral to maintaining the operational efficiency of our health services and requires a proactive approach to communication and teamwork.
Key responsibilities encompass liaising with health centre staff, conducting vehicle maintenance checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. The Driver will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles and participating in mandatory training for personal and professional development.

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is committed to supporting Aboriginal health initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Valid “C” class manual WA driver’s licence.
- Passenger Transport Drivers Licence (PTD)
- 4WD Certificate or relevant experience operating a 4WD vehicle.
- Strong integrity in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
- Excellent time management skills and an understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Experience with monitoring vehicle use and adherence to safe driving standards.
- Current Federal Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate.
- Availability to work weekends as required.
Preference will be given to local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidates with established connections to the region. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the health outcomes of your community.
Salary & Benefits
The position offers a base salary of $55,317 per annum pro rata, along with a casual loading of 25% on the base salary.
