Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Since our establishment in 1986, we have been committed to advocating for Aboriginal health and well-being, while delivering essential resources to our Member Services.
Our organisation is the voice for eight independent Aboriginal organisations and aims to empower Kimberley Aboriginal people to achieve strong, healthy, and connected lives through culturally appropriate services. KAMS offers a variety of programs focused on holistic health outcomes, including renal services, mental health support, and workforce development.
Position Overview
The Assistant Payroll Officer will be based in Broome on a Part-time basis. You will be required to oversee and check the AMS Payroll batch on a fortnightly basis and provide advice, mentoring and assistance where required as per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA). This position is designed to review all AMS payrolls and deal with any relevant assistance as required. It is envisaged that this position will assist the Payroll Officer where appropriate.

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in both independent and team settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively with others.
- A genuine interest in Payroll and Finance with relevant experience (12 months) or relevant qualifications
- Experience in maintaining and updating the employee files data base
- Competent in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Industrial awards and their interpretation
Salary & Benefits
The Assistant Payroll Officer position offers a range base salary of $81,040 - $84,249 per annum pro rata. Additional benefits include:
- Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum pro rata
- Annual Airfare of $1,285 per annum (after 12 months of service)
- District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) per annum pro rata
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata
- Optional Salary Sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata
