Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) serves as the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in Western Australia's Kimberley region. Since its establishment in 1986, KAMS has provided a unified voice for Aboriginal health, advocating for community well-being through partnerships with its Member Services.
Our organisation is governed by a Board of Directors comprising Aboriginal health leaders from eight independent Aboriginal organisations. We deliver a wide range of services aimed at improving health outcomes for Kimberley Aboriginal people, focusing on holistic health and well-being centred around Aboriginal culture.
Position Overview
The Cleaner will be based in Billiluna on a Part-time basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that the health centre maintains a clean and hygienic environment, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all cleaning duties in accordance with KAMS policies and procedures.
- Work effectively without supervision to complete cleaning requirements as outlined in the Remote Health Clinic Cleaners Procedure Manual and Weekly Checklist.
- Adhere to principles of privacy and confidentiality in all activities.
- Stay informed about the Safety Information Folder, especially regarding cleaning products used.
- Engage in personal development through mandatory training and stay updated on OSH and infection control principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including scheduled audits.
- Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Comply with relevant legislation, including Equal Employment Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable individual who values integrity and confidentiality in their work.
- Understanding of infection control principles.
- High level of integrity in maintaining organisational and patient confidentiality.
- Strong time management skills.
- Current knowledge of Equal Opportunity and OSH legislation.
- Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable qualifications include a current C Class manual WA driver’s licence and being a local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person with established connections to the region.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a base salary of $55,317 per annum pro rata, alongside additional benefits such as:
- Annual Airfare of $1,285 (after 12 months of service)
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata
- District Allowance of $3,933 (single) or $7,866 (double) per annum pro rata
- Optional salary sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata
