Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is a prominent Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, KAMS serves as a unified voice for Aboriginal health and wellbeing, advocating for collective resources and initiatives in collaboration with its eight Member Services.

Position Overview
The Community Connector Coordinator (CCC) will be based in Broome on a Full-time basis. You will play a crucial role within the Remote Community Connector Program, designed to aid individuals with disabilities, their families, and carers in remote communities. The CCC will assist clients in comprehending the NDIS access pathway and connect them with relevant services, ensuring they receive the support they need.
Working under the direction of the Remote Community Connector Regional Coordinator, the CCC will actively engage with community members, local organisations, and health professionals. The role involves facilitating eligibility assessments, gathering necessary documentation, and coordinating planning meetings with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). The CCC will also work to enhance community awareness of the NDIS and foster a culturally safe environment for all individuals.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a strong commitment to community engagement and cultural safety, with a desire to support individuals with disabilities in their journey towards accessing essential services.
- Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Basic knowledge of the NDIS and a willingness to learn more about disability supports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a capacity to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Current 'C' class driver's licence and willingness to travel across the Kimberley region.
- National Police Clearance and NDIS Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain these clearances.
Preferred qualifications include a background in healthcare or community work, and connections to the local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive Base Salary of $86,780 per annum pro rata, additional benefits including:
- Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum pro rata.
- Annual airfare of $1,285 (after 12 months of service),
- District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) per annum pro rata,
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata.
- Optional salary sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata
