Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is the peak regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Since its establishment in 1986, KAMS has aimed to provide a unified voice for Aboriginal health and wellbeing, advocating for and delivering essential resources in collaboration with its Member Services.
Governed by a Board of Directors comprised of Aboriginal health leaders, KAMS serves eight independent Aboriginal organisations, promoting the health and wellbeing of Kimberley Aboriginal people through a range of programs and services that align with the ACCHS Model of Care.
Position Overview
The Program Support Coordinator will be based in Broome on a Full-time Fixed Term Contract to July 2026. You will play a pivotal role in advancing the implementation of robust clinical frameworks across KAMS Remote Health Centres. This position focuses on providing essential support to leadership teams and staff in integrating primary healthcare programs into daily clinical operations while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, and funding requirements.
The Coordinator will also contribute to enhancing health promotion activities and programs, ensuring they align with the KAMS Model of Care and the unique cultural needs of the communities served.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policy frameworks for the integration of primary health programs into clinic operations.
- Collaborate with Remote Health Centre Managers to promote health initiatives and support staff training and program delivery.
- Lead data collection and reporting on program outcomes to relevant funding bodies.
- Maximise Medicare income through effective education and health campaigns.
- Ensure the integration of continuous quality improvement processes in line with accreditation standards.
- Assist in the implementation of Telehealth services across all Remote Health Centres.
- Identify funding opportunities and contribute to the development of funding bids.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong understanding of Aboriginal community-controlled health services and the KAMS Model of Care. A commitment to culturally sensitive health practises and the ability to navigate complex healthcare environments are essential.
- Eligible for national registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Demonstrated knowledge of primary healthcare programs, Medicare requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proficient in computer skills and comfortable with data management.
- Current Federal Police clearance and WA Working with Children Check.
- Valid “C” class WA drivers’ licence and willingness to travel frequently.
Salary & Benefits
The base salary for this position is $123,901 per annum, accompanied by additional benefits including:
- Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum pro rata
- District Allowance of $2,149 (single) or $4,298 (double) per annum pro rata
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata
- options for salary sacrifice up to $30,000 per annum pro rata.
