Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, KAMS provides advocacy and support for a network of member ACCHS, delivering a wide range of services, including health promotion, social and emotional wellbeing support, and corporate services.
As a member of both the Aboriginal Health Council of WA and the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, KAMS is dedicated to providing quality healthcare and building a strong Aboriginal health workforce to meet the needs of communities across the region.
Position Overview
The Remote Services Program Support Coordinator based in Broome is a fixed term Contract until July 2026. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation of clinical frameworks at KAMS Remote Health Centres, ensuring alignment with the KAMS Model of Care and relevant standards. This position requires a proactive approach to supporting leadership teams and staff in integrating primary healthcare programs, enhancing Medicare income processes, and promoting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of policy frameworks for primary health programs.
- Support Remote Health Centre Managers in health promotion and program delivery.
- Maximise Medicare income through strategic education and health campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and licencing standards through continuous quality improvement.
- Assist in the implementation of Telehealth services across remote health centres.
- Manage contract requirements and develop funding bids to enhance service provision.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Aboriginal health and possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Eligible for national registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical skills and knowledge of ACCHS.
- Understanding of primary healthcare programs, Medicare requirements, and Telehealth services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage change and competing priorities effectively.
- Strong computer skills and a current Federal Police clearance.
- Willingness to travel frequently and a valid “C” class WA driver’s licence.
Experience in the Aboriginal Community Control sector and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment are desirable attributes.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this position is $123,901, complemented by additional allowances including
- District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) per annum pro rata
- Electricity Allowance of $1,440 per annum pro rata
- Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 per annum pro rata
