Position Overview
The Remote Area Nurse will play a vital role in delivering coordinated and comprehensive primary health and emergency care to clients within the community of Mulan. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will utilise evidence-based practises to promote health and well-being while adhering to KAMS policies and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
The Remote Area Nurse will be responsible for:
- Providing professional primary health care in a culturally safe manner, following KAMS endorsed guidelines and protocols.
- Delivering health education and managing health programs such as Maternal and Child Health and Chronic Condition Programs.
- Offering a 24/7 emergency care service and actively participating in the on-call roster.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participating in workforce development and mentoring new staff, students, and team members.
- Engaging in service promotion, planning, and reporting to enhance local health program development.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality health care in remote communities. Key qualifications and skills include:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
- Demonstrated experience in comprehensive primary and emergency health care delivery.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills, especially in engaging with Aboriginal communities.
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and relevant nursing legislation.
- Current National Police Clearance and WA Working With Children Check, along with a valid C class WA manual driver’s licence.
Preference will be given to candidates who have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as experience with clinical database systems.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $123,901, along with a range of attractive benefits including:
- District Allowance: $3,933
- Annual Airfare of $1,285 per annum pro rata (after 12 months continuous service).
- Accommodation provided whilst in community
- Isolation Airfare of $2,000 reimbursement
- Retention Bonus of $10,000 after 2 years of continuous service and 12 months thereafter
- Availability Allowance of 25% of base salary.
