Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) that provides advocacy and support for a network of member ACCHS across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in 1986, KAMS has grown to encompass multiple community health services, striving to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the Kimberley.

Position Summary
The School Health Nurse will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of health services tailored for school-aged children in remote communities. This position is integral to fostering health education, promoting immunizations, and facilitating connections to specialist services for children aged 4-17 years, alongside their families and communities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities including:
- Providing evidence-based health care and education to children and families, aligned with the KAMS Model of Care and relevant health protocols.
- Engaging with key stakeholders to identify service gaps and collaboratively develop effective health programs.
- Conducting routine immunizations and promoting community health literacy regarding school health.
- Collecting and monitoring health data for reporting and evaluation purposes, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in managing and evaluating school health services in an Indigenous context.
- Strong understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to deliver educational sessions to diverse audiences.
- Current WA driver's licence and willingness to travel independently.

Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive base salary of $123,901, along with additional benefits including a $13,000 accommodation allowance, $2,149 district allowance (single), $4,298 (double), $1,440 electricity allowance, and $1,285 annual airfare allowance plus superannuation and salary packaging!
