Business Services Support Officer

Are you an experienced administration officer and/or enthusiastic about working in admin? Then we are looking for you.  We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for various Administration roles within KAMS.

About Us

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community-controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 5 remote Aboriginal communities across the region and being the lead agency for headspace Broome since 2008.

KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 34 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in Aboriginal Health.

Position Overview

KAMS has a highly rewarding opportunity for an Business Services Support Officer to join their Business Services Unit on a full-time basis. This position will assist the Business Services team by providing comprehensive support in the management of assets and properties. This position involves coordinating and overseeing repairs and maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of all facilities. Additionally, the officer will provide administrative support, including maintaining accurate records, managing documentation, and handling communication with contractors and service providers. Ensuring that all assets are managed efficiently and in compliance with organisational policies. 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of meeting documentation
  • Organise all travel and accommodation
  • Organise meetings and workshops as required
  • Assist Asset Manager in maintaining a database / register for all vehicles
  • Assist with the Maintenance of KAMS/KRS Properties
  • Maintain an equipment/asset register

Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous administration experience, Certificate IV in administration or willingness to work towards
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication both written and verbal
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Sound computer and keyboard skills, proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Current C class driver’s licence. 
  • Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Willingness to travel in small aircraft
  • Willingness to travel to remote communities

Prior experience in an administrative role or similar position is preferred, but not required. We value individuals who are eager to learn and grow within our organisation.

  • District allowance $2,920 (Single) or $5,840 (Double) p.a. pro rata;
  • Electricity allowance $1,440 p.a pro rata;
  • Accommodation allowance $13,000 p.a. pro rata;
  • Annual airfares subsidy to the value of $1,285 p.a. pro rata (after 12 months of service); 
  • 5 weeks leave p.a. pro rata;
