A New National Architecture

The Indigenous Centre of Vocational Excellence (ICOVE) is a First Nations-led national initiative established under the Australian Government's National Skills Agreement and aligned with Closing the Gap reforms.

Delivered in partnership between Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) and Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative, ICOVE has been created to strengthen how the vocational education and training (VET) system works for First Nations people through stronger partnerships, capability building, innovation and policy leadership.

The Role: Coordinating National Impact

KAMS / ICOVE is seeking a Senior Project Officer to join its growing national team, working remotely from anywhere in Australia.

Reporting to the Director – Innovation, you'll coordinate strategic projects that support ICOVE's Innovation agenda and contribute to nationally significant initiatives that strengthen First Nations vocational education.

Working collaboratively across ICOVE and with government, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), education providers and other key stakeholders, you'll help keep projects progressing from planning and stakeholder engagement through to delivery, reporting and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex work, coordinating multiple priorities and helping deliver projects that make a genuine difference.

Here's What You'll Be Working On

As Senior Project Officer, you'll coordinate projects that support ICOVE's strategic priorities while strengthening collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

In this role, you'll:

• Coordinate projects from planning through delivery and evaluation
• Develop project plans, timelines, reports and project documentation
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and support continuous improvement
• Build productive relationships with government, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), education providers and sector partners
• Coordinate meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
• Undertake research and environmental scanning to support project planning and delivery
• Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting across multiple projects
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Project Officers while contributing to a collaborative project team

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering projects within complex or multi-stakeholder environments
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience preparing project documentation, reports and presentations
• The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Relevant qualifications in Project Management, Business, Community Development, Public Policy or a related discipline

The following experience will also be highly regarded:

• Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector or other community-focused environments
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and governance frameworks
• Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities

Above all, you'll be proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently while remaining connected to a national remote team.
