A New National Chapter Begins
The Indigenous Centre of Vocational Excellence (ICOVE) is a First Nations-led national initiative established under the Australian Government’s National Skills Agreement, aligned with Closing the Gap reforms.
Delivered in partnership between Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) and Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative, ICOVE has been created to strengthen how the vocational education and training (VET) system works for First Nations people enabling better pathways into meaningful employment through stronger policy, improved capability, and more effective system design.
More than a traditional peak body, ICOVE represents a new national architecture bringing together policy, research, innovation, and sector capability into a coordinated, system-level approach.

Coordinate and Support Project Delivery at a National Level
As an ICOVE Project Officer, you will provide essential coordination and administrative support to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with ICOVE’s goals.
KAMS / ICOVE is seeking a full-time ICOVE Project Officer based in Australia. Reporting to the Director, you will support project delivery by coordinating activities, preparing documentation, managing stakeholder communication, and assisting with research and reporting.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and coordination
- Helping define project scope, goals, timelines, and resource needs
- Preparing project briefs, plans, initiation reports, and status updates
- Monitoring key project activities, dashboards, and financial summaries
- Coordinating stakeholder communication, meetings, and events
- Conducting research to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Monitoring and cleansing project data to support reporting and compliance
- Providing administrative support, including procurement, spreadsheets, and logistics
- Supporting monitoring and evaluation activities in line with the ICOVE Monitoring and Evaluation Plan
Develop Capability While Supporting Delivery
This role is about bringing structure, responsiveness, and consistency to project delivery.
In your first few months, you will build familiarity with ICOVE’s priorities, ways of working, and stakeholder environment. You will support active projects by helping keep timelines on track, documentation current, and communication flowing.
As you grow in the role, you will become a trusted support across project coordination, reporting, and continuous improvement, helping teams work efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Your Capability and Contribution
To qualify, you will need strong organisation, communication, and administrative support skills, along with the ability to manage multiple components of project work. Experience supporting projects, programs, or operational delivery will be highly regarded. A current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one, will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Ability to consult with team members and keep stakeholders informed
- Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
- Strong data analysis and reporting capability
- Relevant qualifications in business, management, or a related field
- Previous project management or project support experience
